Conservation Voters of PA Endorses Adrian Rivera-Reyes for City Council

Statewide Voice for the Environment Praises Focus on Green Issues

May 9, 2019 — Conservation Voters of PA today announced its endorsement of Adrian Rivera-Reyes for Philadelphia City Council At-Large in the Democratic primary on May 21.

“Dr. Adrian Rivera-Reyes has made climate change a central issue of his campaign and will be a strong environmental champion on Philadelphia City Council,” said Josh McNeil, Executive Director of Conservation Voters of PA. “We are excited by his plan for a Municipal Green New Deal that would transition the city to 100% renewable energy by 2030 and halt investment in new fossil fuel infrastructure. We strongly urge everyone to vote for Adrian on May 21.”

“I’m proud to have the support of Conservation Voters of PA in the fight for environmental justice,” said Adrian Rivera-Reyes. “Now more than ever, we need leaders who will protect the air we breathe, the water we drink, and planet we call home. A Green New Deal is what science and justice demand. With CVPA’s help, we will ensure a fair and just transition for all communities and workers to a fossil-free economy.”

Conservation Voters of PA is the statewide political voice for the environment. They work to elect environmentally responsible candidates to state and local offices. In 2018, CVPA helped more than 75% of its endorsed candidates win their elections. Through their political work, they are strengthening laws that safeguard the health of our communities, the beauty of our state, and our economic future.
