Working Families Party Endorses Adrian Rivera-Reyes for City Council

Grassroots Organization to Mobilize Members for Working Families’ Champion

April 24, 2019 — The Working Families Party today announced its endorsement of Adrian Rivera-Reyes for Philadelphia City Council At-Large in the Democratic primary on May 21.

“Adrian Rivera-Reyes is a progressive leader who is putting forward a bold agenda to ensure Philadelphia works for all, not just the few,” said Vanessa Clifford for the Working Families Party. “As a member of City Council, Adrian will stand up for fully-funded public schools, higher wages, affordable housing, and a Green New Deal. We are proud to support him.”

“I was raised in a working family,” said Adrian Rivera-Reyes. “I know what it is like to be unable to afford a home or health insurance. Too many families in Philadelphia are facing these same struggles. I am honored to be endorsed by the Working Families Party. With their support, we will make Philadelphia a city that puts working class people first.”

In 2017, Working Families Party, one of the largest and most active progressive organizations nationwide, backed 1036 candidates across 23 states, and won in nearly 2/3rds of its races. WFP was active in many of the recent progressive victories in Philadelphia, including Larry Krasner (District Attorney), Chris Rabb (HD 200), Joe Hohenstein (HD 177), and Elizabeth Fiedler (HD 184).
